Vendor Spotlight: The Fairy Stitch Factory

Fairy Stitch FactoryJanel Norris, owner and artist of the Fairy Stitch Factory, has long been driven by the need to create. Starting out with a BA in Fantasy Illustration, she always had a love of imagination and the worlds of make-believe. In 2000 She decided to start bringing her own world of make-believe to life by starting a career in costuming and design.  Her creations have branched out into a line of jewelery, accessories, shoes, and wings. Her creations span many genres and styles but are always marked by her exacting attention to detail, quality, craftsmanship and originality. Her collection is constantly growing and changing as she challenges herself with new techniques, projects, and inspirations. Her favorite inspirations are Charles Worth, fashions of the 1860s-1940s, fantasy illustrators, fantasy films, and the work of Alphonse Mucha. She strives to bring a modern flair to the classic beauty of fantasy and historical costuming.

Janel enjoys sharing her love of costuming and creation with others and is always willing to lend some tips or answer questions. Hoping to give back to the community that gave her so much support and inspiration starting out, she offers panels at several conventions. Make sure to check out her panels at TempleCon 2015, as well as her vending table in the Plaza Ballroom, and her designs in the "Dominion" Retro-Futurist fashion show on Saturday, February 7th.
