Board Gaming

While board gaming at TempleCon has always been present, until recently we haven't actively pursued it as a major part of TempleCon.  That changed in 2009 with a wide array of board games running non-stop all weekend, including favorites Tannhauser, Arkham Horror, Twilight Imperium, and Ticket To Ride, as well as the addition of an insane open-gaming library that packed the board game room to overflowing.

In addition, TempleCon is extremely proud to be the annual host for a North American Diplomacy Federation Grand Prix Tournament, which draws attendees from all over to our little corner of Rhode Island to compete over the course of three days in the struggle for world conquest!

As a result of the incredible response to our board game program and open gaming library in 2009 and 2010, our board gaming at TempleCon 2011 will continue to grow.

You also can't forget the phenomenon of casual card gaming, in the form of near-endless sessions of the legendary game Munchkin by Steve Jackson Games, whose MIBs appear at TempleCon to offer teaching sessions to interested players.  We also have plenty of Infernal Contraption, the popular card game from Privateer Press that combines full-metal fantasy with steampunk-style tinkering.

And finally, TempleCon has grown to be a place where independent board game designers can appear to demonstrate and play-test their in-development or recently released game systems.  When you come to TempleCon for board gaming, expect to find both the familiar and the as-of-yet-unknown.

We're happy to have board gaming grow to become such a major presence at TempleCon in our fifth year.  If there is anything you would like to run to expand our collection of board gaming events, please, let us know!
